I discovered the Holy Apostolic Mass a few years ago, around my 30s.
I am unable to clearly write down what I felt the first time I attended this Mass. I then realized the abysmal difference in the implementation, between the Ancient Holy Mass and the Reformed one.
My first steps were taken thanks to the book by Father de Cochem, entitled Explanation of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. He opened my eyes. He explained simply how the Mass took place.
I then attended daily mass at the church where the Missionary Family of Notre-Dame worked.
What was my astonishment in my naivety at the time, upon learning that this Mass that I followed assiduously had nothing to do with it!
A few years later, I had the grace to attend a solemn Mass offered by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius Feels like hearing angels singing! I learned that we sing Mass and not at Mass!
My experience, added to the manipulation which made it possible to impose the liturgical reform, made me devalue the Mass of Paul VI and I can no longer attend it with as light a heart as before.
It must be said that Francis' pontificate was the last straw!!!
But what joy when I go to attend the traditional Mass!
In addition to being magnificent, beautiful, sublime, it is timeless.
By attending Mass on the 6th Sunday after Pentecost in 2023, I am aware that it is absolutely the same Mass in its broad outlines as the Mass on the 6th Sunday after Pentecost at the time of Pope Saint Gregory the Great in Rome, and understanding that, it’s fabulous!
